About

Capitol Technology University is part of the job-rich pipeline supplying human capital to America’s most technologically advanced government agencies and their private sector supply chains since its founding in 1927 by a Navy Veteran. Located in Laurel, Maryland, Capitol Tech is a fully accredited, private, nonprofit university offering bachelors, masters, and doctoral degrees in STEM only. Complete your BS in Aviation Professional Pilot with the only 4-Year Pilot Degree located in the Washington, DC Special Flight Rules Area (SFRA). Your Capitol Tech degree also saves you time and money over other programs. Because of the quality of instruction and curriculum in our program, the FAA has officially authorized Capitol Tech to certify graduates for a FAA-Authorized Restricted hashtag#Airline Transport Pilot (R-ATP) Training Program with 1,000 total flight hours—a 500-hour reduction from the standard 1,500-hour requirement. In addition, this authorization also allows a Capitol Tech graduate to take a practical flight test for the Restricted-ATP at age 21 instead of waiting until the standard age of 23. Graduates who complete all academic and flight requirements will receive a formal FAA certifying statement from Capitol Tech confirming their eligibility for the reduced-hour ATP pathway. While many college graduates struggle to find meaningful work with their degrees, Capitol Tech provides a launch pad to a better life. It’s because we’re laser-focused on STEM careers and give students the hands-on, real-world experience they need to enter today’s tech job market. We currently use Ft. Meade Executive Airport KFME - FME as our primary campus airport which includes the maintenance training and flight. Additional airports for flight training include: Lee Airport KANP - ANP, Frederick Municipal Airport KFDK - FDK, and Martin State Airport KMTN - MTN. Rotary training is only offered at Frederick Municipal Airport.
