About
Eastern Slope Aviation Academy is a 501(c)3 nonprofit whose mission is to introduce young people to a career in aviation. We do this through student memberships with local high schools, home school students and adults who are considering a career in aviation. We provide flight training for Private Pilot license, instrument rating, an Aviation Mechanics program (currently on hold with local high schools), introduction to Air Traffic Control, and introduction to military careers. Student membership is $100 and often paid by the local school district. We also provide summer Aviation Camp for 8-10 graders, a mini-camp for 5 & 6th graders and classroom programs for local elementary schools. We provide Discovery Flights to non-academy members who want to explore a flying career. We have 3 aircraft. A Cessna C 172, Cessna C 150 and a Vashon Ranger. We also have a Redbird TD 2 flight simulator. We have 5 FAA Certified Flight Instructors, CFIs. Ground School is usually taught each spring by an Advanced Ground Instructor, AGI to prepare students for the FAA written exam. Academy services are only provided to Eastern Slope Aviation Academy members. Join the Academy by filling out an application found on our web site www.easternslopeaviationacademy.org
