About

Formerly located at the Laramie Regional Airport and operating as Laramie Aviation Resources, we have moved our operation to the Rawlins Municipal Airport/Harvey Field. Our specialty is Professional Pilot training, but Casual training is offered as well. Our primary training aircraft is the Piper Archer, a 180 HP, 4 seat, single engine, fixed gear aircraft, ideal for this elevation and environment. After moving from Laramie, we are essentially in "Startup Mode", and will be growing as fast as possible. We will be registering a new trade name as soon as the law allows, so "Rawlins Flight Academy" is pending in 2026. In the meanwhile, our corporate name, NorthEast Planes Aviation, Inc., will be sufficient. We have housing available for out of area students, a mere 3/4 mile from the airport, with monthly rates available. Wyoming is know for its windy conditions plus snow and ice in the wintertime, so bring your cold weather clothes. Our motto is "Be the Best Pilot Money Can Buy, For Less of It" and we mean it. We are a Part 61 school so no getting off easy with not enough hours to get a job anywhere. Our Professional Pilot Program is on a 5 day a week schedule, designed to produce a Commercial Pilot, Instrument and Multi Engine rated, with an initial Certificated Flight Instructor license, ready to go to work flying airplanes somewhere in the United States. We are always on the lookout for those who really like the idea of teaching, so we can hire them to teach here. The other graduates will be assisted in finding employment elsewhere, often flying but NOT teaching. Casual students will utilize the same syllabus as the Professional students, just with a flexible schedule to accommodate their life, but able to obtain the same licenses and ratings. We will be starting a new class for the Professional Program the first of each month, starting in October 2026. We plan to employ 1 instructor per 4 professional students, 1 airplane per 12 students and 1 sim/20 students.
